Has anyone else here actually migrated from console gaming to PC gaming?

Not really. I've always been entrenched in both the console and PC domain. I've always preferred using a controller to using a keyboard/mouse though.

I built a fairly beastly gaming rig last year, and have since moved almost entirely from 360 to PC. I still play Call of Duty on 360, mostly because all of my friends are there, but everything else pretty much is PC from here out.

Does anyone else here actually know you can play both?

Is morphing the title make as statement actually as douchey as it sounds?

I never made the jump from the PS1 to the PS2. Fear Effect 3 would have been the only game that would have pushed me to shell out for a 'next gen' console, so when that was cancelled I drifted away from consoles... and gaming in general, really.

I got back into it once I had a half decent PC, at which point I discovered MMOs and (later) Steam, so I'm pretty much a confirmed PC gamer now.

I was originally a console gamer, and still am.

I do use the PC to play the total war series and league of legends.

Pfffffffffft, NO! :p
Other way around.
So glad I did.

Well, I guess I started off with a N64.
So I did once, back when PC-gaming was better.

Heh, just 100 games?, I legally own 183 games on Steam alone and like 10 (physical, retail discs) games or so on the Wii, same when I had a 360.

I always had consoles, from the NES, to the SNES, N64, PS1, PS2, GameCube, Wii and (for a short time) a 360, but ~2004 I was sucked in to PC gaming, ironically, thanks to console games. First it was with Halo, later with Soul Reaver 2, and my love for PC gaming was cemented with Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory, wich I still consider it as one of my top 10 favorite games of all time.

Buying a 360 was like a huge step backwards, compared to what I already had on my PC. First, yes, games on consoles are very expensive and they rarely drop their prices (not counting used games) and even if they do, they are still a bit expensive for my tastes.

And yes, on 2009 I only had like ~30 games on Steam, then I got a proper job, a debit card and lots of amazing sales later and my Steam library increased significantly. With that same money, I could've bought like ~10 new games on the 360, or I could've bought a PS3 and maybe a couple of games. A few months later, I sold the 360 and I never looked back.

Say what you want, that the PC has better graphics, consoles are better, shadda, shadda, but in price-value factor, the PC is a lot MUCH better.

Have always played both, though I've always probably been more of a PC Gamer. Though I play more non-casual games on my consoles, I still consider myself more of a PC Gamer. And when Diablo 3 comes out...

I've sort of grown up with both, so I don't see any reason to stick to one in particular.

Can definitely see the cost-benefit of using a PC exclusively, though.

You missed out. The PS2 has the best backlog of any home console since.. ever.

I went for PC pride to console pride. I rarely use my PC to game now (minus MMOs and RTS'.....and Combat Flight Simulator 3 (I love that game))

I don't bother with consoles mainly because I needed the PC anyways. Now I'm in college with no real income save scholarship, not wasting it on consoles or new PC titles (except Skyrim, depends on what I get from tutoring in the fall semester)

I did after the PS2. Games just seemed more entertaining. twas about the time the Orange box was coming out. I'm definitely enjoying it more although I've gone from my serious gaming PC to mostly playing on my Laptop. It's much more fun.

I'm more prone to buy for PC now that you see a lot of games with controller support, but most of my friends are console gamers, so most games I would play with them are still going to be console-bought.

I kind of am in the process of migrating. I've always been on the fence and enjoyed both formats, but with Uni on the horizon, moving out of my parents' place into a form room, and most likely losing space for consoles I'll probably be sticking to PC gaming alone.

Unfortunately modern PC gaming doesn't offer that much that consoles don't, but I always enjoy older games, I must have played through Half-Life 1 about 3 times this year, and finally I'm joining the Deus Ex party (bit late I know).

In a way, I have, since I started with the SNES, then the PS1 and borrowed my cousin's N64 and GameCube. During that time, my parents were out of a job and I couldn't afford a new console or a PC until 2009, from which point on I've been gaming exclusively on PC. Unfortuantely, it's a laptop, so my game choices are limited by the processor getting owned by current graphics. When I graduate from Uni, I'm planning on building a gaming PC with more memory and better hardware, although I'll still keep gaming on consoles for their exclusive titles.

I just got Steam not too long ago actually and opened up my gaming world to new possibilities. :p

Still a console gamer though, of course. xD I love my PS3. :))

I'm also going to be putting together a gaming PC here soon, hopefully. :3
