I really need to know if this is happening to anyone else here on the escapist. So like many of you I play Skyrim, so naturally I run into dragons. But the last 6 dragons I've met have been the most indecisive things in all of tamriel. They won't come at me, oh no, they'll fly behind mountains of in circles behind me and every time I get closer, they'll just fly farther away. Once a dragon was apparently more threatened by a patch of dirt then me and wouldn't stop attacking it. SO fellow escapabillibambadoes, has this happened to you yet?

Yup, happened to me a couple of times as well. I'd suggest you just walk on. They'll probably attack you at some later point. I had a couple of dragons that were more interested in flying over my head than in actually attacking me, no matter what I did.

Not all dragons seem affected by this, however, and I suspect they'll attack you when you come back later or something. I believe some dragons will continue to spawn randomly, so I wouldn't worry too much about it.

This.
Also, it's not that they'll kill someone important, destroy some location or prevent you from finishing the game in any way. :)

Yeah I get it loads. Seems that they don't even care about you unless you actually manage to hit them with something. I've spent like 15 minutes before shooting arrows and spells at a dragon who was right on top of me, but it payed no attention at all. I most often find I'm attacked by dragons at the end of a quest, or after I've come out the end of a long cave. Or sometimes simply immediately after I arrive after quick-travelling somewhere.

When I see a dragon in Skyrim, I instantly go into killing mode. They're like the rats of Skyrim and I need to purge the land of their filth. I spend way too much time chasing them and then shooting arrows at them to get their attention. I then realize how silly this is and head to the College of Winterhold. There's always a dragon waiting there. At least sixty percent of the time.

One thing that annoys me is that I've killed three dragons without absorbing their soul. One was terrorizing a town (keep in mind that I had already killed this particular dragon while wandering about) and without absorbing its soul, it'll just keep on harassing the town.

This is the worst. After a quest or dungeon cleanse, my companion and I are filled to the brim with loot. I want those scales and bones!! I usually have to do an inventory overhaul followed by a fast travel to sell. After another fast travel, I pray that everything is still there.

Also, what is it about scales and bones? I probably could equip every soul in Skyrim with dragon armor due to all the dragon loot, yet scales and bones are my number one priority in my inventory.

I agree with this , theres something about these heavy ass bones and scales that no matter what i need to have them. I might buy a house and expose them as trophies . Lots and lots of trophies.

Its a side effect of not making them scripted, I guess, but yes, it happened to me a lot.

Dragon fights went from epic encounters to cross country hikes because dragons started forgetting all about Dovahkiin once a goat ran across the battlefield.
That's exactly what happened to me, but i guess dragons worst enemies are *GASP* patches of grass behind mountains!
