Has anyone ever Noticed?

Has anyone ever noticed that in most if not all of Valves game the world is supressed by some dictating force? Or at least that your will is never allowed to be your own? (Such as in Portal)

Is that not true for most games? valve or not, Im pretty sure thats why "sandbox" was such a big thing when it first came around.

That seems to be only the case with Portal and Half Life. Then again, those are really the only VALVe games with good story's.

Tf2- You play as a series of mercs, If you count your boss as a Dictator then that would be truel.

CounterStrike- Your either a Counter Terrioist or a Terroist. It's just warfare.

Left 4 Dead- The only other characters are the mindless zombies.

Please. I've seen much worse then that. Granted I think that video may have brained my damage but nothing to serious. Try watching all of Fred's videos and then see if you survive (And this is where the Do not attempt at home disclosure would come up.).

The only game of theirs I could see as fitting your description is the Half-Life series (which includes Portal). The Team Fortress series doesn't have some oppressive empire fighting against you. Nor do the Counter-Strike series, the Day of Defeat series, Garry's Mod, or Left 4 Dead. So, one game series out of six (seven if you count Richochet). Yeah, that's almost all of them alright, lol.
