Has anyone ever played Path Of Neo?

Everytime I watch one of these matrix movies, I get the itch to try and hunt this game down and it saddens me it's not available digitally anywhere.

Can anyone tell me, was it fun? Was it at least as good as Enter The Matrix was?

It was better than Enter the Matrix, but that's obviously not saying much.

I don't remember much about it (which probably says enough right there), but it was decent.

I loved that shit. Preferred it to Enter the Matrix, in fact.

Admittedly, I don't recall too much about it nowadays but I distinctly remember enjoying the shit out of it when it came out way back when.

Back in the day it was A LOT of fun. But after playing so many modern titles you just wouldn't be able to get into it. It's far too clunky nowadays.

This. It was cool back then but it will probably just be annoying to play now.

It was a fun beat 'em up with a lot of combos that were way too complicated to be useful, and a lot more that were too easy for how useful they were. As previously mentioned the alternate ending might just be the best thing about the entire Matrix franchise, barring maybe the time aliens threw asteroids at London from space.

Plus no annoying driving sections, or boss fights based around getting someone to move into a certain location.

It begs the question why the Matrix franchise is completely dead in the water right now. No spin offs, no new games, nothing. It's weird.

Probably the best Matrix game i have played. The creators kind of had a lot of fun with the setting and messing about with the possibilities. Worth a shot at least.

Well it's because except for the animated spin-off dvd there really isn't much of a franchise. Just one movie.
Just.
One.

I liked it quite a bit. I thought the fighting and bullet time moves were pretty satisfying, and it covered the story decently.

I was 15 though.

I played it, and I enjoyed it a lot. It wasn't great, and I didn't like the firing mechanics, so I just went melee all the time. Which was incredibly fun. I actually felt like Neo, flying around ignoring gunfire, punching people like an anime martial artist. Running up walls, doing all the reality defying stuff, and kicking ass while doing it.

I didn't finish the game, because the story didn't really hold me. But yeah, I mean, if you are considering picking it up, and it's on sale, I personally would say it's worth a look. I doubt you will be blown away by it, but I enjoyed the time I put into it.

The melee combat is really fun and punchy and the environments are surprisingly destructible and interactive. The general level design isn't great and the framerate on PS2 is pretty poor (I didn't have the other versions) but it's a fun game altogether. I played it again relatively recently and it holds up okay. It wasn't really stellar next to melee-oriented games at the time (DMC, God of War, etc) but there hasn't really been anything else that plays quite like it so it still works.

I hear the framerate is waaaaaay better on the original Xbox if you can get that version. I have no idea how the PC version was.

One is that during the scene in the first movie where Neo is trying to escape from the Agents in his office I managed to escape instead of getting caught like in the film. The developers made a bit of a deal about how you can change how things happened from the films. They weren't very significant and I don't know why I remember that one but I do.
Probably because that's the *only* choice you get if my memory's right.
You get a choice for the red or blue pill at the beginning of the game but obviously the blue pill goes nowhere so there's really no point.

I also have those fond memories and pretty much for the same reason.

I also remember really liking the bloopers, I really like it when developers show those.
I was gonna post the video but they aren't as funny as I remember.

I thought it was pretty good. I mean, it was kind of rubbish, but fun rubbish. Though, about halfway through, it goes completely off the rails, and it's obvious there were supposed to be a few more playable sections, but they ran out of time.

Idk if you are trying to make a joke about Neo being the one, but there are 3 movies.

He is implying that the 2 sequels suck.

I personally loved Enter the Matrix, so I'd say it's worse. There's an interesting bit with a lot of atmosphere where you explore a bit of the Matrix that got corrupted.

It was years ago when I played it, I just remember a shitty final boss, a very strange Escher level where you fight giant ants,(no, really) and a few weird bits that I'm not sure were in the game, or a fever dream.

I'd totally give it a go if you haven't played it though. It's a good experience.

Well if you thought Enter the Matirx was good, you'll enjoy this since it was made by essentially the same people. Except you have Neo Powers.
That being said it is also as Janky as Enter the Matrix was. If you can hunt it down I'm sure it will be no more than 20 bucks. It'll be fun for what it is.

I enjoyed it at least.
