I see Tetris has been mentioned. A funny thing about that. I was talking to Egoraptor (the guy who did Metal Gear Awesome and all the other Awesome flashes) and he said to me that Tetris was ultimately the perfect game for its simplicity and endless popularity. It's hard to find anyone who has never played any Tetris game ever. People just like it. (This conversation actually started with my asking him if making an actual Tetri-Awesome game would be a cool idea.)

Uncharted 2 had a final boss comparable to Gears 2. That alone is enough for me to say it isn't perfect.

Definitely Dwarf Fortress.

TBH, There never has been one, and never will be. Even Mass Effect, my personal favorite game, is not.

However, the closest to perfection, sorted by genre, IMO, is:
RPG: (TIE) Mass Effect, Fallout 2
RTS: Warcraft 3
FPS: Gears Of War
Survival Horror: Penumbra

Yes. Ocarina Of Time.

Goodbye.
i dunno about that so much, while i agree that it was one of the best games [HEADING=1]OF ALL TIME[/HEADING]

I can find a couple of faults

A: the long distances across hyrule feild (especialy as young link cause then there was no faster way) were a bit drag-some at times

and B: the fact that a nintendo official issued an appology for the water temple should tell us something

other than that i agree with you.

but i would have to say I found twilight princess to be just about the best, a slow start but ultimatly an amazing game with great graphics and a well rounded plotline, the gameplay never gets boring and all the optional side quests mean that you can and will play for ages after deffeating the final boss, overall the best game ever

No there has not and there never will be, and anyone saying otherwise is exaggerating.

I don't think there will be any perfect game but there will be some damn close ones.
I think they would be Majora's Mask or Okami.

Chrono Trigger.

It's physically impossible to disagree with this choice without being a rapist, a mass murderer, and a puppy-murdering despiser of happiness.

People will always find flaws in the best of games.

They will still be good, just not perfect.
Yeah, exactly, and even then, if you find game that you believe is perfect, other people will have problems with it, so nothing will ever be unanimously perfect, which is what it'd have to be to be a downright perfect game.

Well has anyone here considered the game can be perfect for what it is and anyone who has a problem with it is the one that isn't perfect. None of us are perfect, right?

Some people have problems with the water temple in OoT but it was probably my favourite out of all of them, Navi is annoying to some people but it didn't bother me, shit like that.

there will eventually be a game where the entire point will be to push a button sequence and then be rewarded by multiple orgasms, that my friends, is the perfect game
