Have you found that you may be able to access the internet, but not your PSN account? FEAR NOT.

I have the same problem and I wasn't sure what was going on. (And I hope Im not the only person)

Errors that you may experience include:

* The date of the PS3 system may be reset to Jan 1, 2000.
* When signing in to PlayStation Network, the following message appears on the screen: "An error has occurred. You have been signed out of PlayStation Network (8001050F)".
* When launching a game, the following error message appears on the screen and the trophy data may disappear: ?Failed to install trophies. Please exit your game.?
* When setting the time and date of the system via the Internet, the following message appears on the screen: ?The current date and time could not be obtained. (8001050F)?
* You may not be able to play back certain rental video downloaded from PlayStation Store before the expiry date.

We hope to resolve this problem within the next 24 hours. In the meantime, if you have a model other than the new slim PS3, we advise that you do not use your PS3 system, as doing so may result in errors in some functionality, such as recording obtained trophies, and not being able to restore certain data.

I hope this helps anyone because I was very scared that it was just my PS3 acting stupid.

Peace. X

This is the worst thing to ever happen to the PS3. Basically, 99% of the "fat" PS3's out there (not the PS3 slims) are having serious issues. I'm unable to log onto my PSN account, and if I try to play a game with trophies, the game will say in about 30 seconds that it was unable to sync trophy information and the game will close.

So, I just lost all my MW2 trophies and I'm unable to play any game online OR any game that has trophies on it. I'm really pissed, it took me forever to get all those trophies. Sony says they'll have the issue resolved in 24 hours, and they better, because as far as I'm concerned this is a crisis considering 50% of their consoles are unplayable right now.

In before Xbox people.

Basically, everything will be fine tomorrow. Simply because the PS3s will have finished hallucinating their February 29th.

I don't have a ps3. Why post here then? Good question. I'm so lonely.

I do feel for you guys though. Now us xbox peeps aren't the only ones with a flawed console experince.

You can play anything that doesn't use trophies like demos, trails and pre-trophy games. I believe sony says to turn your PS3 off until they fix it, they also say there's a chance you might loose your trophies, I hope not.

Is the fact that my card has been refusing to be accepted for over 2 weeks one of the issues or not???

It has absolutely nothing, what so ever to do with your PSN.

Mine has never been connected to the Internet for even a second and it's effected.

Thanks for the stroking. You are also helping me work on my maturity level as I resist making an obvious dirty reference. You are a kind gentleman, or lady, since I'm too lazy to look into it.

Odd, mine has (albeit only in the last few weeks) been online, and yet not been affected. I was playing it only a few hours ago, too.

Is the 80Gb 'fat' Ps3 affected? That was the latest model until the slim came out.

Basically, DON'T TURN THE PS3 ON! Or if you already have... I am so sorry.
Thank f'king god I decided to go on the computer first today.

Edit: and "The Curse of Error 8001050F" isn't nearly as memorable as "The Red Ring of Death". Hopefully We won't have to use it ever again.
