I was just reading the manual for the Xbox version of Morrowind (playing the Steam version, though) at dinner...And noticed that in the screenshots of the menu screen, the character is a level 5 Breton with a class of "Hate Flying".

What are some funny or just odd things you've seen in menues, manuals, FAQs, or guides?

Btw, Versus Books had the funniest game guide writers of all the mainstream guide outlets. Shame they went out of business. Now we're left with Bradygames, Prima, and Piggyback.

In the back of the Red/Blue/Yellow guides, they had recommended Pokemon teams for fighting your friends. One of them had Magikarp, Metapod, and Kakuna. The "strategy" was to pop the batteries out of your opponents Game Boy while they were doubled over in laughter at your team.

It's funnier the way they wrote it...

Haha, oh, that's great.

I've really never seen anything humorous in guides or manuals that I can recall, everyone is so super srs all the time, nowadays.

I've always liked how the description for "Veteran difficulty" in COD is "You will not survive". I believe Halo has something similar for Legendary.

Fable 3, when the nerdy roleplayer says to the other:

'What kind of game lets you kill the final boss with one hit?'

The Donkey Kong 64 manual was narrated by the Cranky Kong character, who constantly shifts between insulting you for being stupid, insulting the younger Kongs for not being as old as he, and whining about how much better things were when there was only a joystick and one button.

Haha, that entire quest was awesome with all the references they packed into it.

I remember back in the SW Shadows of the Empire manual there was an image showing the profile selection menu, and the profile's name was "Nosoup4you".

Still makes me giggle when I see it.

Shepard:

'Remember the days you could just slap Omnigel on everything?'

Liara:

'Yeah, that change pissed a lot of people off.'

Something like "Unstoppable foes laugh at your feeble attempts to survive."
Might as well just say it.

"You're fucked, and totally in for hours of dying."

Even more so on Mythic, the unofficial difficulty involving Legendary and every single skull. Blind can be added for True Mythic.
No thanks. Solo Legendary was annoying enough in Reach. I like my asshole to not be torn out.

GTA series, especially GTA IV's manual is fun with all the made up commercials and all the extra effort.

Civilizations, IV and V especially, have the best difficulty options.

I love the description for the hardest difficulty in Rise of Nations.

It's something like, "An ideal sparring partner for the tournament player, or the mentally deranged."
