Beacuse they are strange, that's why!

No, actually, I do not hate Canada. But then again, I am European, so I really have no reason to hate Canada. I actually once considered going to Canada when I "retire", but I love Europe too much.

Well, considering that just about 100% of Canadians make fun of the US on a regular basis, all's fair, right? But making fun of and hating something are two completely different concepts. I don't hate the US, I wouldn't mind living there someday (I live in Canada now), but I'm still gonna make fun of it. So it's probably just the same thing with Americans making fun of Canada. It's like a sibling that you love to torture.

Canada tried to take over the world via mind control!

Try typing in google search and you'll readily see that "canada mind control" is one of its top searches.

I've kidded around occasionally about Canada before. Silly things mostly South Park related. If I ever had any thoughts of my own on the matter I would probably say it's because Canada is so forgettable, or unremarkable. It's cold, the people say 'eh'. Is there more? Not that I've ever been aware of. Though after watching Micheal Moore's "Sicko" film I'm much more open to other western countries. The people from Canada seem a lot more relaxed, and living three years or more on average than we Americans isn't bad either.

Now that I think about it, the worst thing I've ever said Canada related had to involve this Canadian kid in our guild. Back then we had a stereotypical obnoxious 13-year-old join up. He quickly became the guild butt-monkey. He took everyone's crap pretty well, but don't you dare insult his country of origin. After one pretty messy wipe he caused I was quick to quote South Park. "I blame Canada. They're not even a real country anyway." He flipped out. It was pretty funny. I mean, you tell him he should tame a more idiot proof pet like a rock or a dead gerbil so he doesn't wipe us. He's fine with that. One quip about Canada, though? Berserk Button.

I don't see why you would want to care but (No Offense) some of the stuff that happens in America, makes Canada look like... something... very good I guess, I can't really talk 'cos Australia (SA especially) has a really bad habit of having the craziest and kookiest politicians.

This definitely describes it.

Thank god he stepped down.

I don't know I don't pay attention to it to be honest. We make fun of ourselves just as much as any other country does to us and why? I think its because of two things. One we've gotten used to being made fun of, most of us don't care anymore. Two. We make it so we come off as nice so that anyone who does hate us comes off as extremist.

As a Canadian I won't claim that our country is flawless, that's why I enjoy the Rich Mercer Report, because it makes me laugh to see things that are dumb here being mocked. I also enjoy being able to be a Conservative voter and yet still remain in the centre of the political spectrum. As a nation, we're just as flawed as any, so I don't mind being made fun of, as long as I can dish out on other countries flaws as well. I don't hate for the sake of hate, I mock for the sake of awareness and let me tell you, its just as fun. Just to fan the flames I might get for being a Conservative, let me add one more thing. I like Nickelback's music.

Most people don't hate Canada, jokes are made at their expense, sure. Just like I, as a resident of the state of Wisconsin, make fun of people with southern accents and Boston accents. Not because I hate them (with the exception of certain Texans), just for fun. No harm meant, we love Canada. Or America's hat, as some call it.

The only time I made fun of Canada was because I joined a WoW guild that was run by an entire Canadian family who all got infinite DKP and was constantly trying to get me kicked from the guild... But that's a waaaay different story.

I haven't seen many people take stabs at Canada. More so, I see it directed at Canadians actually. With all the pronunciation jokes like whats all this aboot? and things like that, but not so much the country as a whole.
It's "about", thank you very much (I'm Canadian and can't think of any people who say "aboot").

I'm pretty sure there aren't many people who truly hate Canada. I mean, everyone mocks everyone else, right?

Its just another country for people (america) to make fun of. "anything for a laugh" is what goes through their minds. Emphasis on "anything"!
They almost never actually mean what they say. They're mostly... just kids. I tend to avoid people like that when I'm online.
