This is not the place to ask this. Trust me. Actually, you probably just realized that on this thread... yep.

I do not view building hatred or anger toward something as negative. In fact, I believe it is perfectly healthy to have these emotions as long as you don't allow them to rule your life and guide every action.

I take a very middle-path kind of perspective to emotion. Too much of one thing can be bad, yes but a total lack of something can be just as disastrous. Hatred also breed ingenuity and helps to sharpen the mind. After all, if you never had the need to plot against something, how would you ever learn?

In my experience, true hatred isn't just something you can decide not to feel. If you're talking about a sort of manufactured dislike or hatred, however, then yeah I'm not sure what the point of that is.

Hate's an emotion. Living things tends to feel emotions on occasions when it strikes them.

How's there more to it than that?

When something is done to you again and again and again for no other reason that amusment for a group of individuals, you cant help but come to hate those indivduals.

It's just as natural as liking something. If you love something, then naturally, you must hate something too.

[sub]I think he's a robot trying to comprehend human emotion. Just putting that out there.[/sub]

What, you've never felt an emotion before?

Because if you had you would know that it's somewhat involuntary.

I think the OP has a point, a lot of people really nurture their anger and their hatred, it's not like a normal person would see Justin Bieber for the first time in their life and automatically go to "OMG I WANNA KILL HIM"-mode. Same with people who flip out just because they think someone is cheating in a game or whatever.

Sometimes, people just need to take a deep breath, try to collect themselves or just let stuff that gets them riled up be. You don't have to get worked up over the slightest, most meaningless things. Relax, dude.

That's not to say that there aren't times and reasons to get angry or causes to hate, but I don't think that's what the OP meant. But you can choose not to get your panties in a bunch over any everyday shit.

You don't understand hatred or anger if you question why people feel those emotions.
That is why I asked the question. I do not understand it could you enlighten me?

Maybe people have their own reasons for their anger and hate. Maybe it's pure ignorance on your part to assume they choose to live that way. They are emotions just like any other "better" feeling. And you think it can just be wished away? Keep living with your eyes closed, but I prefer to see the ugly truth.

I hate because I'm hated. And it feels good.
Choose was a poor word to use. 'Let' would be a better word. I never said it could be wished away. How am I living with my eyes closed if I do choose not to get angry, or refuse to let myself? It would be helpful to me if you would explain what the 'ugly truth' is.

This is somewhat what I was refering to.

It is more than likely just a lack of comprehension on my part.
