In short: Is it good to wear a hat nowadays?(Preferably a trilby)

I often wear a fedora(Very similar to a trilby) in public. I get mixed feedback from it. From the moronic jackasses in my school, I was mocked for wearing it. From a few of my friends, and people I didnt know I was praised for wearing such a great hat. I remember walking home wearing it, and I recieved stares from every person in every car I walked past.

In short, wearing a fedora/trilby would be a great attention getter. Probably good for picking up girls who arent idiots, but I haven't tried that yet.

Yes, I wear a bowler. It's a very precious hat (For all I wish I could get a nicer one. From Strand Hatters in Sydney.. for $300.) As said above, hat's never left. They've always been lurking.
