I personally like this song more than both of them

As for the Mercs 2 song, it made me chuckle, but it's still no Still Alive.

It's pretty funny, reminds me somewhat of Tenacious D. Not the next Still Alive though, I don't even think there can be such a thing. It's a catchy song and a nice way to advertise the game, that's all.

I dunno. When I first saw this on TV, I thought it was cute. That's pretty much it. A little catchy, but mostly just cute. So when I heard the full version of the song (thanks to the First Post and YouTube), it was a bit of a let down. The full version isn't nearly as interesting or able to hold my interest.

how can you say its a rip-off from Portal when Portal ripped the whole "comedical song" soundtrack from other games?, Postal werent the first one, not by a long shot...

so NO, this is not the new Still Alive, this is just another song with lyrics used in a video game...

I like that it was quirky and funny. I have no doubt that they were trying to copy Still Alive, and it seems just as good as Still Alive in terms of actual lyrics and beat (especially the piano tune, I agree that was great).

The thing is, Still Alive was great when I heard it before I played Portal. After playing Portal, it's more than just a good song, it's an excellent ending and makes me wonder if GLaDoS wasn't just testing the ASPHD the whole time instead of actually being evil. This song is great sounding, but it probably won't have the impact end game that Still Alive did.

EDIT: Oh yeah, I forgot about You Have to Burn the Rope. That song was almost as catchy as Still Alive.

It's a funny song, not sure if it's the next "Still alive" but a funny bit none the less.

I must have bad taste in music or something, because I thought Still Alive was good, but not good enough to warrant all the attention it got. And the Mercs 2 song, in my opinion, is precisely the same way, just less so.

Heh, I find myself singing that song to myself along with "Always look on the bright side of life".
I usually sing that during fallout ads

I sing that literally any time I'm in an apocalyptic scenario. When I'm in the Plane of Oblivion, in the 'Aftermath' pseudo-level in COD4, in the 'Cortana' level of Halo 3... the list goes on.

I love that tune and the commercial itself. I just hope it portrays the mood of mercs 2 accurately.
