You could say that.
I've been involved with many girls that already had a boyfriend. All of them pretty much constantly complained over how they didn't like him anymore etc etc. Time goes on, yet they never dump the boyfriend, so I get fed up with being the second guy and confront them about it. Always got the same answer; "But I feel safe with him...".
Dumped them quickly.

The worst one was a girl who I had an affair with for a long time. Her boyfriend lived halfway across the country and she was going to move to him eventually. Of course, as usual, she complained about how she didn't want to move while I comforted her and tried to convince her not to. When the ineviteble confrontation occured she said she was going to move to him after all, so I broke it up(which was pretty damn hard since I really loved this girl).
Perhaps a month later I hear from my sister that the girl had broken up with the boyfriend and now lives at one of my friends home. Oh, and she's pregnant.
Heart forever broken.

Yeah, "What doesn't kills you makes you stronger, and what makes you stronger lets you help more people." As my dad says.
Y'know, I've seen that posted around the Escapist quite a bit, and I want to believe it, I really do.

I've been through the crapper (emotionally) for about half my life, and the problem is that none of it can be blamed on anyone. Back when I was a fifteen year old squit, I was a psychotic (read: medical definition), and yet I was blessed with a normal, pretty and charismatic girlfriend. January, everything's hunky dory, March, I get caught in a fight at her funeral and afterwards I'm a fucking wreck because her sister (the only member of her family who didn't hate me) refused, despite my begging her, to blame me for her death. It took me more than eight years to stop blaming myself for it. Why? Partially because of my second girlfriend, partially because I had just burned myself out, and partially because I had found a new thing to blame myself for.

You find me a solitary husk, not a man.

'What doesn't kill you either makes you stronger, or makes you easier to kill in the future...'
