Have You Ever "Created" a Firecracker?

I was thinking about the Fourth of July (I always think about it like a month before so don't you dare!), I thought I might post a topic about doing something I love, "Createing" fireworks.
Well, I sorta messed around with the sparklers, found out its the paper that makes it have a color, so I did this "LITTLE" experiment with the sparklers.
I got a bottle cap, put all the paper and powder I had in the thing till it was full, when I lit it, that flame hit the ceilling of the garage a blue flame.
I haven't made much ever since then, xD I ran out of firecrackers and sparklers.

So, Have you ever "created" a firecracker?
If so did it work like you thought it would?

Well we get sparklers, scrap a whole box of the powder off the sparklers into a film canister expect one, stick the last one upside in the powder and light the end of it. And yeah...thats what we do.
