Have you ever made a thread on a forum site, and then once enough people have posted into it, edited the question on something to make their answers seem completely irrelevant?

Eg: Thread maker: What did you get up to today?

Posters: Made breakfast, took a dump, went for a swim etc.

Then....

Thread maker: Has anybody ever heard this song?

Posters: Made breakfast, took a dump, went for a swim etc.

I did that once, but not because I wanted to make all other answers seem irrelevant. I had asked a question, and when it was answered, I changed the thread title and question to avoid having others post the same answers I already knew.

Is that some kind of post-temporal trolling?

No i've never done it, because i only create threads that i think are important. I don't make junk threads.

No i have never done that...because if i make a question thread it's usually because i need help and once my question(s) is answered i leave the thread alone for the mods to deal with.

Aye I know what you mean. Unfortunatly most of the important threads I ever created were never answered, and since I like getting information, these types of threads seem to give me the most feedback so yeah. Fun threads vs. news/important threads in my little section, the fun threads always seemed to be the victors.

No, I'm not a douche.

Although, clearly, the thing to do would be to have people make utterly random posts, and then have the OP edit in a question that tries to explain as many of them as possible.

Quoted just in case OP tries to pull the shenanigans he's describing.

Not really. Can't imagine anyone doing it either.

Editing someone else is just dumb, like laughing at your own jokes.

Nice catch, both of you.

I'd have to say no; I'll edit the post to include something more, but I'd never remove the original question. I'd just make it clear that question wasn't relevant any more. Something like;
[Question]

and then;
UPDATE;
[New Question]
This is the old stuff;
[Original Question]

I don't think I've ever actually done it, but that would be how I'd do it.
