Have you ever felt like a massive hypocrite?

There have been a number of occasions in my life where I've said one thing and done another, sometimes I've felt like less of a person for it and other times I've felt that breaking away from past self imposed 'limitations' was the right thing to do.

For instance, one of my friends is a massive fan of House, and before I had watched it I instantly labled it as a ripoff of Becker. Then I actually watched an episode and was gobsmacked by how wrong I was and the next time I saw my friend I told him how much of a douche I had been.
Since then I have tried not trap myself with words, I will always leave wriggling room so that I don't come across as a hypocrite if I do change my mind.

So fellow escapists, regale me with tales of your hypocrisy!

I am always suffering some sort of temperamental mood swings, but I am the first to tell someone off for being unneccesarily agressive or sad.

On games I am a lot, with weapons and stuff.
Most recent example was in Team Fortress 2; "The Sandman and its stun thing's just stupid" I say after being hit with a ball that I wouldn't have been if I'd been able to hit the enemy Scout with my own ball.

There's also the odd real life examples every now and again that make me look a bit thick.
"Could you not swear for one fucking sentence?! Wait..."

I admit that I am a massive hypocrite.

On that note, hypocrites are terrible people who should be punished.

I used to loath those who troll or flame what others liked, but I realized I do the exact same thing to others and their likes.

I pretty much stopped doing it, but I still loathe those who insult another's likes. Hypocrites especially.

I think hypocrisy is very normal in humans. And yes I have been a hypocrite, don't remember exactly what it was, but I know I have been a hypocrite before. I think if you find a human that says they were never a hypocrite, I would think they are probably lying.

Anyone who claims that they have never acted hypocritically is a liar. We all do it sometimes, it's just some people do it more than others.

Sometimes, which is a shame since i resent hypocrisy. It's mostly for a good cause; like giving smart advices to someone even though you don't always follow them.

I used to be this way, but at this point in my life (late 20s), I have a very clear understanding of my beliefs and rarely see this happening.

With age comes wisdom.

...and the ability to be angry at the younger generations just because they are younger and don't "get it" in the same way you do. It's fun!

Eh, all the time. I am a massive hypocrite, so it's only natural that I should feel like one.

The act of hypocrisy is pretending to have some socially accepted opinion when in reality it is the opposite.
An example would be for a person to claim Halo is a terrible game and anyone that is a fan of it should go die alone in a corner when he himself owns Halo 1-Reach/posters/novels etc.

All I've read so far is how people jumped the gun in making their opinion and then when they give it a real chance realise that they were wrong.
So if any of you claim to hate all JRPGs with a burning passion 2nd only to the sun but own any and all things to do with Final Fantasy, then you have it right when you say your a hypocrite.

By the way, Half-Life is a driveling piece of shit and I wouldn't be caught dead with the game CD in my computer.

I wonder what you would think of yourself now when you're 40. :p Joking

Joking or not, you make a very good point. When I am 40 I will probably feel the same way about how I am now, as I do about who I was in High School

I tend to be a hypocrite often, but that only stems from my philosophy. I am the kind of person that keeps his views fluent (at least most of his views) and so it may be that during a discussion I will change my standpoint several times. This may come accross as hypocrisy, especially since I tend to think highly of myself and sometimes apply some rules to other people, omitting myself.

It never hurt anybody though, and I think it's the specific of my approach to learning, not hypocrisy as such.

I have a contant take on different philosophies I learn meaning that most of them contradict each other. I usually flip-flop between them and I am called a major hypocrite for said reason.
