Have you ever noticed that if you think up an interesting topic to talk about on a forum, someone has started a post of exactly what you were thinking a couple of hours before you? This happens to me pretty much every. I'll be in bed at 11, thinking of something, I wake up the next day, someone has started my topic for me. Does this happen to anyone else? or am I just insane/psyhic?

This always somehow happens to me. Every time I go to make a thread there are always some winy pricks complaining that a topic has been done before.

No, not really.

Not to sound like an asshole, but that probably means the thread you had in mind wasn't particularly original in the first place.

Just recently I've noticed that happening, but I've dismissed the idea to actual post the topic because it seems lame to me. Then it gets loads of posts on it. Which kind of sucks.

I have a feeling someone just read the OP and said "Damn it! Not again!".....

I've never had anything interesting enough to say that warrants a new topic, so no I can't say it happens to me.

Not really, mind you I don't post many new threads and when I do they're about fairly weird stuff people haven't heard about up to then.

I just think it's bad timing for you.

Let's face facts, there's something like 60 pages of threads in the off-topic section alone, with that many threads having been made it is inevitable that we're going to have repeats.

I do get somewhat annoyed when someone starts a thread (ok, we've seen the question 'what's your favourite game?' on here a huge number of times but it is a gaming forum, it comes with the territory) and you find that anywhere between the first few posts to the entirety of the first page consists of people going 'use the search bar'.

If you don't want to write on a particular thread because you think it's been done before then simply don't write on it, ignore it and bring attention back to the one you think people should write on.

Not for me, unless it's one that's bound to crop up. My original posts are ones like Your Favourite Shoes and How do you like your Eggs?

If those imaginary topics of you were all related to some recent event it's not that strange at all. If it isn't...bad luck.

Well its like thinking of something then hearing it one the radio all day or similar. However with the many thousands of things you think of over the course of the day the odds are one will be expressed through the internet or radio etc. I think what would be more impressive is that of all the things you thought of, not one of them was replicated be someone else that day

EDIT; Grammar

Probably because it had been done before...try using the search button before claiming people are "whiny pricks".

This usually doesn't happen to me because I usually frequent forums with really small close-knit communities. I wonder if it'll be any different here..

I have noticed this happen, then again, it might be because you have seen the title elsewhere and then subconciously you come up with the idea so that you think it's originally your idea so you then go to create the thread but find it has already been made, so technically its just the way your mind works by itself, not being psychic or any other idiotic ideas, well there is also the possiblity that you are just a very, very unlucky guy.
