...How this forum has days where its "religion bashing" day, others when its "American hate day"

Well, looking at two posts titled "when you pee" and "when you flush.." it seems like for the first time in the history of this board, its "discuss your toiletry habits" day.. wonderful... XD

Things have been on a general decline for quite a while now. I, like several others, are trying our best to stop it from happening. I remember the days when you could discuss religion here without getting a thread locked. Intelligent questions, not an atheist broadcasting his opinion to the rest of us disguised as a question. It's when people come up with something smart to say that I will join in.

not much to discuss seeing as you asked a yes/no question.
yes, I noticed. No, there aren't set days.
It's all influenced by other threads...

This forum has been getting worse and worse each day, from what I've observed. It's only a matter of time before everything devolves into an endless flame war.

I have indeed noticed that we tend to get days where certain subjects are discussed a lot. Although I have noticed more that threads with very little discussion value in general are being created much more.

One line answers and questions which only require them are extremely common. As Greyfox105 said, they are influenced by other threads.

I come across interesting threads with plenty to discuss and half the time they go nowhere because people would rather spam out the easy topics which require little thinking and even less typing to respond to.

Kids these days hate religions, government, and any other authority figure. Don't be surprised to see it here.

I blame it on the fact that one person's thread brings up stuff in another person's mind, which makes them think their ideas also warrant a thread, no matter how similar it is to the previous topic.
Is it annoying? Yes.
But it's an acceptable negative in my book. I'm not going to quit this site just because some people don't like thinking hard enough to make their own topics.

One thread influences others. Sometimes it's serious, sometimes not.

I remember following that trend once. People asking if the U.S. could be invaded, or England could win a war, or Australia something. I decided to go the next logical step and ask about Peru's general war readiness...didn't get quite the reaction I'd hoped for.
