Those movies always seemed to be on tv over here around 8 or 10 years ago. Although I don't remember watching the original

The Vanashing (original title Spoorloos). At high school the made us read the book it is based on (I quite liked it). Then they made us watch this film and it's shitty American remake.

Nope. Sounds disturbing, especially considering the subject matter. That was one dark period in my original country's history.
