"Yeah, well... I'll be keeping an eye on you Gumbo." Joseph said. He walked out of the safe, with his M4 up. He swept the bank, making sure that there wasn't any infected left.
"Seems clear, keep sharp." He continued to sweep the bank. About fifteen minutes later, satisfied with the sweep, he tried the comms.
"To any United States Army personel, this is Second Lieutenant Joseph Galland, please respond." He said into the comms. two minutes went by, no answer. He decided to try the Captain.
"Captain Wolfe, this is Lieutenant Galland, we need orders sir, coordinates to the meateor, anything. Sir, are you there?" He gave up, no answer, but then again, these were short range radios, they only had a range of six hundred yards. The basterd could be anywhere by now. Hell, he could have just headed back to HAVEN and left them all for dead. He made a decision.
"Okay boys, listen up." He began. "Since I can't seem to reach the Captain, I'm going to have to pull rank." He continued. "Warrent Officer, Your second in command, Specialist Harrington, Your in charge of the civilians. I really hate doing this but." He puased. "This shit's only gonna get worse, that means no wondering off, no fighting, and there will be no looting of any kind, that means you Jason." He said eyeing him as he put a security camera into his bag. He couldn't blame him, he probobly needed to make a living back in HAVEN, but he had to keep order.
"We need to find a place to fortify for the night, a mini-mart or a grocery store. But it's getting dark and we have no night vision equipment on us, so we have to move now." He finished. Everyone was staring at him in disbelief. Galland did something most of the teenagers at HAVEN would call a facepalm.
"Lets move people, I won't hesatate to shoot you for insubordination, so GET GOING!" He added...
