A cane makes you walk differently.
And while it might stop pain short-term it might also lead to an unnatural malposition while walking, causing back pain later on.
Ask a doctor about your symptoms/pain before suddenly using a cane. Preferably an orthopedist.

Go to a doctor's first. If the doctor says you should get a cane, do it. If he says you should just stay off that leg for a few days do that, but only get a cane if the doctor says so.

Indeed, as many have said go to a doctor first, if you get a cane without consulting a doctor it could lead to a further aggrivation of your condition.
