Having trouble with MGS4

First of all it takes ages (more than 5 minutes) to load the title screen, the game itself takes almost double that, and the online refuses to read the disk. I guess I can handle the first two but the online bit is the oddest one. It was working less than an hour ago. So well in fact I had time to download the 1.36 update ofer the span of 2 hours and make a new account (Which I now have to pay for because of another character I made in an account I forgot the details for but that's another story). Now I try playing it and 30 seconds in that cd/? icon flashes in the top-left corner. I already cleaned the disk and the only time I took it out I put it in the box.

Help?

At the moment we're going to need a bit more information.

First, try playing other games on the system for....maybe an hour. Take note of any errors and then come back to us with whatever you have. Depending on the outcome it could be a problem with your system or just your disk.

I fixed it. Apparently a series of corrupt save files slowed that particular game down to a crawl.
