And NO, i don't care if this thread has already been done so please don't pull me up on it.

Annoying game called Soldier Front, people hid in boxes, shot any passers-by.

I was playing TF2 and sniped a heavy in the face literally 50 times. He had no medic, but wouldn't die. After a while, he glitched and fell over, and I got 30 points or so. It was odd, I'm not sure if it was a hack, though.

I was playing TF2 on a 360 and for some reason there was a GIANT medic would would randomly run through the map and kill everyone with a bone saw. It was awesome.

Heh. Left 4 Dead Versus. Our team never, ever spawned a tank during the entire campaign. The other team, however, spawned one literally within five seconds of us walking out. Every. Damn. Stage.

There is the remote possibility that they didn't cheat. I completely doubt it, though.

Just today, two friends and I ran into a team of lag-switchers on Halo 3. They glitch-teleported everywhere when we were attacking them...sniping was downright impossible. But whenever they picked up a shotgun, active camo, or a hammer, they magically became perfectly smooth and didn't glitch at all. Occasionally you could catch them by surprise and they wouldn't glitch, but the lag was so consistently convenient that it really had to be lag-switching.

TF2 (On Xbox) people have been doing all sorts of crazy shit to the game lately. For a while, there was some sort of mod that people were using to make their games have super low gravity, so one jump could take you from battlement to battlement on 2fort. Then there were some other things that gave certain weapons all critical hits, and one of the weirder things I've seen was someone picking up parts of the scenery and moving them around, as well as spawning random items around the place (Including the explosive barrels from Half-Life 2).

No idea how people have done it, but it's happened many times.

You ever play Gunz the Duel? Good lord, that game was truly awfule for a while: rocket rain, invincibility, 1-shot kills, noclipping, the works.
The game was basically a glitch exibit until they fixed the anti-cheat system.

I've had people shoot me through walls and junk in TF2 sometimes as well.

Thus far I haven't seen any cheats in L4D. But I have heard a lot shout "chest" when you shoot the special infected through the wall =P

Honestly, I don't seem to run into blatent cheating these days terribly often. I did notice when playing Bad Company that people would cheerfuly exist in areas of the map that would generally result in my being sniped by the artillery of someone or another (apparently my own since it counted as a suicide). Back when I played the original TF it was pretty bad. Spies who where feigning their deaths but still moving about at blinding speed (being chased by a corpose lyring on it's back is oddly disturbing). Constant use of aim bots by snipers (sorry guys, but a 350ms ping indicates you probably don't have the capacity to hit someone in the head 100% of the time no matter what they're doing to evade you). Once, I was even attacked by a seemingly invincible dismemebered head.

The standard ones: wallhack, aimbot, triggerbot, radar. In nearly 8 years of playing popular online games it would have been impossible to not find at least one of every type of hack.

My favourite is the CS(S) speedhack + aimbot combination. Seeing someone run through the entire level in a few seconds with an M249, never missing a headshot is awesome to watch but horrible to play against.

EDIT: I nearly forgot the Alien vs Predator 2 hacking. Someone discovered that with Tsearch, you could find the address for the smartgun's auto-aim and freeze it.(essentially making your own aimbot) It actually got patched years after most developers would have given up on the game. It's still possible, but a bit harder to do it, and that was only the start of AvP2 Tsearch 'hacking'.(last I found of it, was a video of an xenomorph killing others in spectator mode)
