I used to have fun with those people on Runescape who say "Hey, Jagex censors your password. Look! ******". I always said my password was "<Scammer's Username>isdumb" and then go all WTF and play dumb when it doesn't become censored.

Pretty much every game has a pile of notices saying _____ staff will never ask for your personal information or password. And yet despite that people just keep falling for scams. Time and time and time again, whether it be their WOW accounts or the STEAM info or some other online account, people just keep falling for em.

It's like lambs to the slaughter, except even more depressing.

I got on a page once that was just like the Steam Community login page [https://steamcommunity.com/] and when I entered my account name and password, it just reset to the same page. You can bet your ass I had changed my password in the following minute. I'll be damned if I ever get scammed out of my precious steam account.

i never got an answer back when i sent them an email back stating: "HAAAA!! are you fricken SERIOUS?"

i guess they dont feel the need to try any harder for what money we may have.

Ah, I remember the days of Diablo II - people trying to use system-style messages to get usernames and passwords in the lobby despite one side of the screen being dedicated to the words "Blizzard will NEVER ask you for your username or password".

I can't say I've ever had that happen to me at all, but it reminds me of something on the UK BBC show Hustle about a group of con artists. Season 3 or 4 finale, I think, one guy goes to Australia. Guess what he does? Sells the Sydney Opera House to some idiot. Pure genius
