So: we are getting a new HD flatscreen. Any ideas from the peanut gallery?

Since we only watch sports and well, I game, we were originally thinking Plasma. Supposedly no blurring effect when the action moves fast. However from what I understand a high end (240 hz) LED/LCD TV is going to net you the same thing.

We were thinking of the Sony Bravia 3D LED/LCD TV (don't have model # offhand), but we were also thinking of the panasonic TCP50G25. It's plasma, lots of anti glare coating and the picture seemed great. But it has mixed reviews (supposedly vierra TVs have a RROD equivalent and this model in particular hums or buzzes when the picture is light)

Again: any advice?

If your going plasma I recommend a Panasonic. I don't know too much about lcd TVs though. I have a 42" plasma for 2 years now and have no complaints or viewing problems from different angles. Thats my recommendation
