I just bought a HDMI cable and a DV-I/HDMI adapter so i can play my PS3 through my pc moniter. Only theres no image when i select the HDMI option in the Ps3 display settings.

The Moniter is a Philips 170B pc moniter, about 3-4 years old.

Any solution or do i have to fork out for a new moniter.

You probably want to talk to Sony; this isn't the best venue for tech support.

Hold the power button on your PS3 for about 10 seconds to reset it, this returns the PS3 to its default settings.

This is a common problem customers have when they put a PS3 from one TV to another.

It still might not work. My monitor has an hdmi hookup, and it just doesn't know what to do with the signal from the PS3. Luckily it also has a s-video hookup. It just doesn't work with some PC monitors.

I know the 360 will work with an hdmi/dvi converter, but from my experience the PS3 is a lot pickier about identifying its video source.
