in my opinion pistols are a lot harder to shoot with than rifles...
'cuz they're light. Even .22s have a little kick to them
Kick means absolutely nothing for the first shot.
lolwut? Maybe you aren't aware, but one of the more common mistakes made in shooting is anticipating the recoil (and the bang) and flinching before you've even shot, which dicks with your aim. It takes time and discipline to get the entire instinct of tensing up out of your system.
Exactly right.
*Sigh* My statement still stands, your referring to a problem with the shooter, not the recoil. Experienced shooters don't even notice it, like a trained martial artist practices a move so much that the body itself memorises it. Second nature & all that gubbins.

And 15 lbs. is excessively heavy for a rifle, unless it's all FUCK YOU IMA LIGHT FIDDY.
Isn't it ironic that this thread about experts is full of misinformation? Thank god the m16 weighs about 8 pounds; I wouldn't want to hump the extra 7 pounds.

I wonder if anybody has actually flown a plane after playing MS Flight Sim X? :)
There was actually a guy in I think Sweden who was able to perfectly fly a realistic simulator because he played FS X so much. I can't be assed to go find the article but it's on the internet somewhere...
mhm yah i saw that too, nearly shat myself when i read it

From playing Mario games I am an expert at consuming mushrooms and fighting giant fire breathing turtles...

Admittedly one tends to follow the other quite closely, and always in that order.

I am glad that I am the first to mention Star Wars, Just about everyone I know has seen the movies think they are a Goddamned expert of Star Wars and tell me facts in the movies I learned a long time ago (because I am a huge Star Wars nerd)

An addtional example, my cousin thinks he knows everything about every sport ever made, just because he can beat Americans at Soccer, Its pathetic
I have behind the magic... does that makes me kinda nerdish too?

I hate CS players who declare their love of the "Maverick M4A1 Carbine". Honestly if they bothered to do a bit of research theyd find the Colt website after 2 minutes.

I do claim to be fairly knowledgable about guns but only to the extent where i can identify them, I don't know about the specifications of them. I'm sure if i didn't live in the UK I'd have had alot more experience with guns but because of my location the only guns I've ever owned and fired are 12 and 20 gauge(sp?) shotguns.

Just to make the OP feel better about his shooting credentials, a .303 is a pretty powerful round, roughly equivalent to 7.62x51mm NATO (which has about 6 feet of flesh penetration on average), a lot more so than 5.56mm thats used in most standard assault rifles or 7.62x39mmR. It's been a long time since I've fired one though, the recoil probably seemed a lot more to me when I was 15.

I know... people like that suck, just find a way to catch them out on their bullshit and then the laughs will be tremendous.

I've played plenty of FPS and 3rd person shooters, and I know my way around weapons and such, and I'm a pretty good shot IRL. However, that's got nothing to do with games, but because I learned (at school, no less, and bear in mind this is the UK) how to fire weapons, recognise weapons and aircraft, I had military style weapons training and I can strip down and maintain and L-96 standard issue rifle as used by the UK military in Iraq and Afgahnistan. That said, after playing video games I do know what to do in a zombie apocalypse, but that's less likely to happen...

I prefer to make video games the basis of my knowledge. Say by playing AoM I stumble across some mythic units I've never even heard of... I'm not just going to accept that a roc is a bird who can transport 10 catapults in a cage... Off to Wikipedia!

But seriously, anyone who thinks he can shoot someone a mile away with an M95 Barret because he did in BF2... please, go bang your head against a wall.

Most of my friends at Guitar Hero and Rock Band, I'm terrible at them and they laugh at me for "having no rhythm". They usually sut up when I point out that the two people in the room who are worst at the game are also the only two people in the room who play real instruments.

Fine, as usual, I'll make the reference to one of my favourite games.
GUITAR HERO.
This is the reason haters bash the series so much. Some smug twat plays it, and thinks he can actually play a real guitar. Little does he realise that if he tried to play one, he wouldn't know how to play Smoke on the Water's riff...
... Not that I know how to play all of it, but I'm learning, honest.
I've never known someone like tis in real life, but it's bound to have happened in the past, possibly to a man called John S. Retard or something.
LMAO my brothers house mate was really good at Guitar Hero, one day my brother came home and his house mate was sitting there with a brand new Gibson SG and a huge Marshall amp trying to play One, I believe his words where "What's wrong with this guitar? It's not like the game?"
