The official reason was that the online competitive aspect and stage building (also online) were integral parts of the experience as well as the single player so without full online access, the full experience couldn't be judged and rated.
Sounds like a bunch of bullshit corporate language to me though. I almost preordered it via Green Man Gaming but after hearing around the lack of review copies, I decided to lay in the cut.
g2a selling in even more cheaper price. thinking of going to that version....
While it is cheaper, there's probably a very nefarious reason why it's cheaper.
Like, "The key may have been obtained in a not so legal way so the devs may not see a single penny of that money." cheaper.
EDIT: Seriously, G2A are selling it for ?23. That's in no way legally obtained for that deep of a launch discount.
