Guys, I have a Sweex WC904 headset for my computer, however windows 7 will not detect it at all. I have tried looking for drivers which don't exist, and pluging it in both microphone sockets but it still refuses to detect it. anyone have any ideas?

Hokay, so it's not a USB headset so you don't need drivers to operate them.

Do you know what kind of soundcard you have?

Perhaps the Headphone and Mic jack is muted somehow? You can check under CONTROL PANEL > SOUND.

Sound Card is the one that comes with an XPS420, I don't think it's the problem because my mic worked back in the days when I had vista on the same machine.

Okay. Let's try something.

Go here ( http://www.piriform.com/speccy ) and download and install it. It's a nice little program that tells you all the information you need to know about your computer.

Once installed, open it and go to Sound. Hopefully, it should tell you the hardware manufacturer and we can go from there.

Make sure you're plugging it into your sound card, and not your motherboard. The sound card is generally lower down the back of the computer.
