honestly thats is a bit much for a headset. You can get decent headsets for like 20 euros, i mean logitechs headsets are always are a good bet considering everyone seems to have them....

I got myself a pair of brandless headphones. They cost me 10 euros but have survived longer than several more expensive ones and the sound is just as great :D

The best headset I've ever had is from the Sennheiser PC range. I got the PC 166.

I might be a little out of touch, but how do you get x.1 sound out of headphones? Aren't they just a speaker in each of your ears? Seriously, I don't know.

I would also like to know this.

I had an awesome pair, that cost me a pretty penny. Then I sat on them.

Creative Fatal1ty

Good sturdy headset, with dynamic bass (whateve that is) and Eight tiny speakers in each earphone, plus a big one so you can hear where noise come from better.

Also has a detachable microphone so you can use it out and about.

lol, not really. I do have a logitech headset but no best of the best shit.

I have used (at a friend of a friend's house at a party) something from Sennheiser, and it was fantastic.

A pair of good stereo headphones plus a clip-on or desktop mic gives pretty good directional sound, and is probably much cheaper than a high-end gaming headset. I use some Audio-Technica monitors for gaming and it's easy to track players by their footsteps in CSS/TF2 despite the 'phones lack of 5.1 support.

I'm using the Steel Series Siberia, they're extremely comfortable even after long gaming binges and the mic quality is quite good. Even comes with a USB sound-card thingy, but I've got a Creative X-Fi card I use.
