I've stated this before and I'll state it again. The video game has only been mentioned because the media have a field day tieing in video games to bad things. It would as likely happened if the guy had just exercised or even if he didn't.

A dog is nearly killed by a controller, a boyfriend strangles his girlfriend with a controller, and now someone's heart spontaneously stops while playing Wii Fit. I'm telling you, those Nintendo bastards made a deal with the devil to get this level of success, and now they're suffering the consequences ;) <--the wink emoticon denotes sarcasm

SADS sounds like there's no known cause, just random "Thud! You're dead!" so it probably doesn't matter what he did that day.
Seems that way. I'm not really qualified to say though,

Oh I can see Jack Thompson adding this to his list of videogame related deaths...
He doesn't care if a video game kills someone, he cares if he can make it look like it caused someone to go on a killing spree. This is just like my dream. Soon 3 copies of Wii fit shall exist for every human being, then they will become self-aware and work us all to death!
It's already happening! [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/articles/view/comics/stolen-pixels/5717-Stolen-Pixels-61-Unfit]

Somehow I get the feeling the media will just ignore the hell out of this. In all reality, a single article on the internet that no one pays attention to won't be much cause for policy shift. At least, not in the States.

Actually, for that matter, I'd be hard pressed to believe the U.K. would change anything for that matter. It may get the public riled a bit, sure, but isn't that the beauty of a constitutional monarchy? Keeping the power out of the hands of uninformed voters?

A healthy man drinking port and eating a kebab?
Hey! I eat kebabs and drink port and I'm perfectly- Oh God. My fate is sealed.
I don't eat that sorta crap, and I don't drink alcohol, and I'm still unhealthy, so I'm probably screwed too. :p

I have never heard of that SADS thing before...now Im frightened :(
Yeah. There was a case in my hometown (IN MY HIGHSCHOOL!) where few boys were running to catch up with a bus, one of them (TOTALLY HEALTHY DUDE) suddenly had a heart attack and almost instantly died...
I think the lesson learned here is:

Don't try to be healthy?

::looks at his pot belly and is suddenly relieved::

That actually would explain it perfectly.

Wow, another victim of video games. Humanity, when will you learn???

Actually, it's kinda ironic. A game designed to make you healthier makes you deader instead. (I know, Captain Obvious to the rescue!!)

But it's really "tabloid" of the Escapist to only announce one single death by WiiFit, when on the other hand countless other lives were saved by that program. If you buy that shit, you won't have money to buy greasy food or booze, or if you have, after using it you'll be too tired to do anything anyway. Problem solved!

Well it's obvious that his girlfriend and friend were seeing each other behind his back and then concocted a plan to pin this is all on Nintendo.

Nope I'm afraid, that's referred to as SAD [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seasonal_affective_disorder] (no syndrome attached)

How can sudden death be a syndrome of anything?
But yeah, there'll be a massive recall: WII KILLS YOU will be the headline of every paper that sells it.

I find this creepy since I just read about sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS).

But I'm surprised tha none of us thought that something like this would happen, Wii Fit is an exercise machine for Pete's sake!

Still, sympathy goes out to the family.

...I can't help buck chuckle...
