Doing certain actions will have an impact on the progression of the game. For instance in the demo where you're questioning the girl, you don't have enough time to ask everything. I wonder what would happen in the full game if I asked different questions or acted more quickly?

The game even allows for any or all of the four characters you play as to die, and still continue.

Sure there's probably one set way to play it through and get the best ending, but I'm going to enjoy exploring other possibilities as well.

I was interested in this game when I first heard about it about 18 months ago, and the demo has sealed it. No doubt a day one purchase for me.
I was wondering myself what would change between giving her the business card at the end or just walking off after you finished talking to her.

Not much longer now though

I didn't download it, just thought it would be weird to play a demo of such a descision based game, but you guys are all making it sound so good.

I'm getting Heavy Rain Collector's edition on release, but I'm not gonna download the demo. I want the experience to be as fresh as possible.

i really liked the fight, it was exciting, and the quicktime was fast enough to be challenging without being annoying. The investigation part was also interesting. I'll definitely pick it up

I finally signed up just to discuss this. Last night and this morning are the first chance I've gotten to play the demo, although I've seen several videos of others playing it. I've also been wondering how every little change will impact the game. I was quite surprised at how my playthroughs have panned out, as most of other people's I have seen had less variation. All the Sleazy Place demos I saw featured the same initial buildup, slightly different questioning, 10 minutes running out, and examples of "failed" and "passed" fight sequences. My first play of the scene, I think I asked Lauren about one question, she promptly burst into tears as she answered, I tried to console her with a hand on the shoulder and she told me to GTFO. That was a new one on me. Second run through I pissed her off enough I didn't even get to the questions. It's not like you get much out of her, Shelby says as much, but you have to wonder how that would affect anything further in the game. Even moreso than that, you can actually choose to abandon Lauren when Troy comes a-barging and just leave.

I also tried not to respond to the inhaler prompts but nothing seemed to happen.

As for the Crime Scene, the interesting thing I noted about that chapter was that the first time I played it, when Blake approached and asked if I wanted to leave I said yes. On second look, I realized that the game had prompted me to leave before I'd found all the evidence. Whilst fiddling around and getting to grips with the controls and such, not fully paying attention to all the dialogue, I think I on some level assumed that it was a hint I'd seen everything there was to see. Not quite. Like I said, interesting.

Obviously, I'm really keen on the game. I'm one of those who has been looking forward to the next QD title since since Fahrenheit came out. It's certainly not disappointing so far.

Oh God, hopefully I'll get a chance to buy it provided it isn't banned in Dubai. Is 2010 some sort of fucking field day for these guys?

Played it, next day went down and put $50 on a pre-order.

If you're wondering whether to download it, just do it. That's what demos are for.
I did this except I did it the same day and I put only $25. I played the demo and knew this is one game I had to pick up as soon as it came out.

I had my preorder down even before the demo but yes, played the demo and loved it.

I'm not sure just how much "game" exactly Heavy Rain is but I know I love it regardless...whatever it is.

After playing through the demo, I realized that every time the path branches off it adds to the overall replay value of the game. For example, the fact that the death of each character changes the story gives me a reason to play through the game at least five times. The only way to truly complete this game is to play through each time changing the way you play the game.

Sure, but I'm very curious to see how each little detail impacts how the story unravels - or not. Deaths are obvious massive threads of the story. Whether or not you leave your business card? Probably not, but I find myself very intrigued to find out. I read a review that said that the small details do payoff, and I believe I heard someone else comment that said certain elements don't. That might be dependent on what ending was achieved/choices were made of course. If you follow one path, certain points are elaborated on and if you don't they remain somewhat unresolved?

It definitely has some replay value for me. I've played the demo scenes multiple times already just to try out all the options.
