Heavy Rain, The new FMV?

i've been replaying some of my old ass games, myst ripper etc, and i've noticed similar aspects of both that and heavy rain. The only difference being that heavy rain is rederred so human like and that fmvs were usually adventure games. But the movie style does make me think they're both using the same cinemographic technquies

anyone out there agree?

I haven't played Heavy Rain but i can tell from what i've seen that it is not FMV in the slightest.
