Help from LotRO fans please.

This is going to be a small, rather silly question, but I do need help and the whole internet and nobody in the LotRO game world knows the answer apparently.

I am a free trialling, level 7 Elf Champion, and I've had the same damn rusty sword as my second weapon since level 2. When I right-click or double click on a weapon in my inventory it replaces the first weapon, not the rusty sword. How do I drop the bastard thing?

Should be easy:1: Open your character screen by pressing "C".
2: Open your inventory by pressing "I"
3: Drag the weapon you wish to use over the weapon you want to replace.
