Help Identify A Movie

So you guys are going to hate me for my vagueness i'm sure, but whatever here goes.

Long story short a friend just phoned me asking if I knew a film with this information:

-It was originally made in Japan
-It Features a Vampire and a Mobster
-There is an awesome gunfight in it where the characters are throwing clips up into the air and catching them in their handguns
-The friend thinks the title begins with "Moon"

I know it's a long shot but the movie rings a bell in my head and it's really frustrating me, anyone got any idea what it could be?

Can anyone join in on this?

I have no idea what this was called, I only caught part of it on tv, about 20 years ago.

-Post-apocalyptic desert, possibly australia.
-There was a kid that had some ball that I think could kill people. I have a feeling he was deaf or mute too.
- The villain wore a light blue/grey leather trench coat.

Unfortunately, that's all I've got.
