I'm playing Mass Effect 2 and encountering a lot of lag - the game will stop for a second when I turn a corner or rotate the camera, and dialogue is getting cut off in game. Has anyone had the same problem? I'm playing it on Steam on 64 bit Windows 7, and my system can run Crysis on high settings fine, and I'm playing Bioshock 2 on high very smoothly so I don't think it has do with my PC under performing. Can anyone help?

Hm no idea. I play mine on some Toshiba thing. Never had anything but the tiniest bit of lag during some "intense action" cutscenes.. but not even noticeable.
Maybe your computer is hot/overheating? I know that previously if I use my laptop for a bit too long and it heats up, games never run as smoothly. Only solution I can think of.

Then again, I can barely figure out how to turn a computer on/off.. I'm more of a console kinda guy. Not much help, sorry.
Turn it off for a while, let it chill. THen try?

PC version of the game isn't up to par with the xbox one. Renting the xbox version is always an option.

PC version is extremely good, not sure where you heard that from. Runs even more smoothly than the first game did while looking near twice as good. Plus the interface and controls are spot on for mouse & keyboard!

Anyway, just run the usual checks. If you can run the first game you shouldn't have any problems at all with the second, so it *is* your computer. Make sure your HD isn't full, as that can cause problems and lag exactly like those you describe. Uninstall and delete any old junk and perhaps run a defrag if you're feeling thorough. And if that ain't it it's probably just your drivers, check for updates and all that!

Good luck!
