Help me come to a decision on which of these 3 games to buy.

I've been looking to pick up a new game soon, but my funds are limited, so I'm trying to make a careful decision. Anyone care to share opinions on which of these games I should get?

Left 4 Dead 2-I hardly ever play games online because multiplayer simply doesn't interest me. But, as I played the first one and loved it, I'm sure I'd get alot of play time out of this, online and off. I played the demo and loved, seems like a good sequel.

Borderlands-As a huge RPG fan I'm intrigued by the "FPS and RPG made a baby" angle. I'm wondering if it has a good story or not. I'm somewhat of a story snob, but I'm willing to excuse a bad/lacking story in the face of great gameplay (Left 4 Dead). Most of my friends don't have this, so I'll likely play through most of it alone.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R.:Call of Pripyat-This one I'd obviously be getting for PC as opposed to the 2 above for xbox. I loved the first one, good balance of difficulty and spooky atmosphere, but I'm not sure if I want to shell out the cash just to do that again. I might just hold for Metro 2033 because that game is going to be tubular.

Golly gosh, I almost never play shooters, and now I'm debating over which of 3.

Any advice or opinions on which I should get is appreciated.

You should have included a poll. But if there was one, my vote would go to Left 4 Dead 2. It has a fun versus, challenging levels and it's one of my favorite games.

I assume you're actually planing to buy all 3 & just want to know which one we think you should buy first?

If you never play shooters, don't take Stalker. It's for hardcore shooter-fans.

Borderlands is probably the best choice if you aren't in to them. The RPGish elements make it a little different at the very least.

I hope to have all three eventually.

But ever since this recession my game-buying rate has slowed to a crawl.

I play a decent amount of FPS's, but less than the average gamer, or so I would imagine. I tend to mostly avoid them because I'm not a big fan of the massive amounts of unrealistic action and insta-healing. I really enjoyed the 'realistic' (in this since that your dude is, like, totally shitty) better than most FPS's. Apparently I'm the only one who feels this way, lol.

Borderlands gets my vote. I loved L4D at start but it went down the drain and I refuse to buy or play L4D2. I've played a bit of Borderlands myself and I loved it.

I thought Borderlands was a pile of shit, and the reason I played it was because of that so-called motto. Stay away from that game.

For a guy who says he won't play online, l4d2 and borderlands are 2 terrible picks.

It would have to be stalker out of these 3. However, only the original, shadow of chernobyl is a must have. Save your money, buy something else, wait for price to drop.

I'd go with stalker or l4d2.

I thought Borderlands was pretty bad. The multiplayer was handled terribly (I have the PC version. Not sure about console version). There was little to no teamwork involved; I didn't feel there was much difference between single player and multiplayer. The only benefit in multiplayer was better loot. There was no system for trading items. If you wanted to give someone an item you had to drop it and hope some jerk doesn't take it before the intended person does. For the game itself I felt it was bland and repetitive, and the shooter/rpg elements were weak. Keep in mind that I don't like open world games with a ton of quests like Oblivion or Fallout 3. If you like those types of games than you might like Borderlands.

Like I said I'd go with Stalker but if you're willing to wait Metro 2033 it might be good to L4D2 instead. There's some new content coming for L4D2 and it's very likely that Steam will have weekend deals for l4d2 soon. But seeing that you said you were going to l4d2 on the xbox then I guess it's irrelevant, something to think about I guess.

Stalker is the cheapest game out of all 3 it's only $20.

Out of those 3 my favorite was L4D2 but I liked stalker as well.

Mine too. If you don't have a birthday in the near future, the trick is to do a big long-lasting chore or a small chore every day for a week for friends or relatives that they really don't want to do themselves so that they reward you with money or the game itself. I

Another trick is to wait a year. The game drops to $20 for PC.

This. Just do it, for your own sake.

If you already have ME2, get Borderlands. The story is completely non-existent, but the gameplay is extremely fun, especially if you play with at least one friend.
