Help me convince my girlfriend.

So my girlfriend wants to get a Xbox 360 and a Kinect....please help me.

I already have an Xbox 360 so it'd be cheaper for her to just buy a Kinect or something, what I want her to get is a PS3 because I think she'd have lots of fun with LBP2 and the PS Move (which I have heard is better but who knows)

I've used both. In my experience, move was worse than Wii.

Dude, if there's anything that is really fun, is to play co-op over Xbox live and play some games like "Castle Crashers" or "Halo" if she were ever to dare FPS. She also gets to use her free time home on learning to play the damn thing.

I see no reason for any of you to get the PS3 though.

She doesn't really get free time at home, she goes to school monday through friday and the days she DOES have free are spent with me.

Agreed. If you wanna play LBP, get a psp or your own ps3. There's nothing wrong with the Kinect, it just has a small game library atm is all. But Rare's Kinect Sports? Hella fun. And I here good things about that dance game. Plus, if she has her OWN 360, you two can play online together when you aren't physically together. Win win win.

Er, last time I checked, PS3 was more expensive than the Xbox 360, or at least it is in this country. Plus each game is also a tiny bit more expensive and doesn't really decrease in price the same way a 360 game does.

As far as I know, you don't NEED a bigger hard drive because you can simply re-download any old games you already bought. Just keep a nice and tidy hard drive and you'll be fine.

As for the last part...PFFTTTT BAHAHAHA Really? The last few girls I was with were complete bitches, so no, they didn't deserve better. I did. That is another story, for another time though. And saying you are not selfish is hysterical given the fact that you MADE this topic. That said, it's silly to convince her to get a PS3 purely because YOU want one. The Move may or may not be better than Kinect, but it's a whole different appeal. Let your girlfriend get what she wants. If you want a PS3, buy one yourself.

With a small hard drive though, wouldn't you not be able to play as many games as say on a 60GB HD? I know when I started playing on my Xbox 360, my HD GB's or whatever just plummeted, it went from 60 to 20 pretty damn fast. Now I don't know if she's like me (I've never bothered asking her) where she likes to keep all her game history and achievements or like when you beat a game and get 100% or something and just can't bare to delete it because you worked so hard on it, she might be one of those.

Achievements and save files take up next to no hard drive space. Actually installing and downloading titles from XBLA or discs themselves? That is what eats up space. Just don't forget to delete a demo after playing it, or delete an XBLA game after beating it and you'll be fine...

Well she has a PS2 and a DS but the games she has for both systems are , well puzzle games I guess, Professor Layton and something else, also racing games, pretty sure the PS3 has better racing games. I'm also doing this for her, seeing as she doesn't have a job (though I don't know how much money she has so for all I know she could buy two xboxs or an xbox AND a PS3)

Also now that I think about it, she'd hardly be playing it as well, so it'd be a waste if she bought either, she goes to this school thing from monday to friday and she has other stuff all through the week (except for monday, thursday, friday, and the weekend) but she's with me the days she is available, she'd hardly get time to play either system.

Her DS as it is, is LITERALLY collecting dust as we speak, and don't get me started on her PS2

Or are you afraid that when she does have time shell play the 360 over kicking it with you? Let her buy what she wants, if you lived together than i can see why youd want a ps3.

I know I'd get really annoyed if my boyfriend tried to convince me out of buying something for the reasons that you've stated. Personally, it strikes me as a bit self-centered for you to think that she should buy something other than what she has already decided she wants, just on the basis of you already having the system.

Now, as I don't own a PS3, I can't compare it to my 360. Perhaps if you said what kind of video games she likes, or what her reasons are for wanting a 360 in the first place, it would seem a bit more reasonable that you're trying to convince her out of her decision? At the moment, though, I don't agree with your attempts to dissuade her, so I can't really contribute more than that.

Well she has a PS2 and a DS but the games she has for both systems are , well puzzle games I guess, Professor Layton and something else, also racing games, pretty sure the PS3 has better racing games. I'm also doing this for her, seeing as she doesn't have a job (though I don't know how much money she has so for all I know she could buy two xboxs or an xbox AND a PS3)

Also now that I think about it, she'd hardly be playing it as well, so it'd be a waste if she bought either, she goes to this school thing from monday to friday and she has other stuff all through the week (except for monday, thursday, friday, and the weekend) but she's with me the days she is available, she'd hardly get time to play either system.

Her DS as it is, is LITERALLY collecting dust as we speak, and don't get me started on her PS2

Ok based on your statements it would seem you are the one who wants a ps3 if shes set on a 360 why not let her just buy it? Or are you afraid that when she does have time shell play the 360 over kicking it with you? Let her buy what she wants, if you lived together than i can see why youd want a ps3.

That's also the thing, I don't even think she IS set on an Xbox 360/kinect cause she said either that or a Wii, I just think she knows nothing of the PS3, so if she saw it and played it for a bit and knew what she could do with it, she'd really love it

So why are you trying to convince her to get something she doesnt even consider as a choice? Why not support whatever she chooses to get? I smell selfish ambition here.

If she wanted to know about it she would check it out her self, stop trying to convince us that its cuz of her lack of knowledge, clear obvious that you want her to get it for your benifit, otherwise you would support her choices, instead of having us manipulate a choice for your gf. This is what is called 3rd person manipulation. Look just admit its for your benifit, there is no other explanation for it.

I was merely addressing how you were making seem as if it was for her only, everyone on this post caught. I own all 3 but play niether of them since im a pc gamer, only perks i can see of a ps3 is you dont have to pay a subscription to the psn and it plays blurays also slightly better graphics, hope that helps also all consoles pale compared to pc's
