Help Me Create A Great Morrowind Build!

SO I got Morrowing on sale on steam a while back after having sunk hundreds of hours and Oblivion both on the vanilla version and mods. However, when I loaded up Morrowind I discovered it was a completely different animal and got raped the instant I stepped out of the first village by a slug my character could not seem to hit. I don't have tot tell you that this led to me rage-quitting. Now I have decided to give it another shake and I want you to help me. I want to play a Dark Elf warrior. What skills would you recommend me to get? What birthsighn? Should I do any quests in the starting area?

If you're wanting to make a warrior build, there's no better sign to take than the Atronach. 50% of the magic cast against you will do no damage to you, and instead you'll absorb it and regain MP. Use medium or heavy armor and remember to chose one of those as a major skill. For your weapon skill, you could put it in to major or minor category, it really doesn't matter. It will rise rather quickly anyways.

If you are going to use a shield, use it more as a bonus to your armor than for blocking, as blocking in this game is 100% random anyways (poor choice bethesda). If you do your research, you can find a way to get a daedric weapon right off the bat by finding a lost ebony mine. That should be enough help to get you on your feet.
