There are some amazing covers of songs done by a homeless man nicknamed "mustard" on the Opie and Anthony show. He is most famous for his cover of Radiohead's creep. Where you come in is by helping me identify the last song on the list on this website: http://opieandanthony.tumblr.com/post/286862717/mustard-audio. And so this thread isn't a complete waste, what are some of you favorite covers of songs or covers that you think surpass their original artist's interpretation?

Hallelujah is going to be mentioned by everyone, it's the obvious stand out. There is an Australian band named Something for Kate who do a fair few covers, and everyone of their covers are better than the original which is pretty amazing.

Couldn't agree more, so much talent going to waste out there....kinda sad that we give record deals to Disney stars and record label lap puppies instead of true talent like this....

It's Mustard's original song called "Do Without". That's why you can't find it anywhere else.

Ah,thank you,well that's a pitty, great song.
No, it's not a pity. It's better that it's his own. Covers are boring. Do you know how many cover songs come over my desk at work? A ton. They all go straight in the bin. Nobody cares about covers. I'd rather hear something original every time.

You misunderstood me, I love original music more than anything, I have been playing drums for six years and the only time I ever play covers is to practice or if I really do love the song, creativity is the driving force of music, the only reason it is a pity is that I wanted to download such an awesome song, but unless somebody can point me to an .mp3, outta luck I guess.

Ah okay, I get you now. Well yeah that is a shame. Chances are though that someone will pick him up soon, if there's genuine demand for it some business-savvy person will usually try to release it.
