okay, I'm at my wit's end. I am assuming you guys have some knowledge of computing and routers and whatnot...and I am just asking if you can help me out.
Now,I know this isn't a help website, but I've tried everywhere and everything, and no one can help. Whenever I go on Modern Warfare 2, Modern Warfare 1, World at War, I cannot play online because it is forever 'downloading game settings' or 'connecting to matchmaking server' and doesn't do anything. I know it's not my disc or system, because I took it to my mate's house down the road and tried it with his internet and it worked, and all my friends can play with no issues. I assume it's my modem that's playing up, because the problems started when I recieved it.I rang my internet company and they say I have to use port forwarding. That doesn't do anything, and when I asked for a new modem (my old one back, it's a simpler model) they turned me down. I try turning it on and off and all sorts of weird things, and nothing
works.
Can anyone help me get online?

*edit: this is why I was always loyal to Medal of Honour...*

Is it just with Activision games, or are other games doing similar things?
no, all other games are absolutely fine, I have the latest software and everything.
My mate (who's brilliant at techno stuff) tried the port forwarding and it didn't work, so we carted it down to his place and it worked fine.
Do I need a new modem?

Sounds more like it might be a problem on Acitivision's end, if your other games work fine. At any rate

It'd be odd for it to just not like Activision games if the modem itself was the problem. I'll look around, see if I can find a similar problem elsewhere and find out how they fixed it.

Well if it's not the game or system, it must be something with the internet...

Are you using a wired or wireless connection? Maybe try the other and see if anything changes?
I'm using a wireless, but I did try wired and it didn't work either.
