Hey so I've had my PS3 for quite a while now...but the problem with being a college student is: I'm up late at night wanting to play while my roomie is constantly trying to get me to turn down the volume until I might as well mute the damn thing XD

I have tried using just MP3 headphones, but I must be deaf or something because if I turn it up, it bleeds through and my roommate complains.

Anyway, I've been looking into headsets on ebay and the like, but I would like to hear recommendations from my peers. I would prefer it to be wireless, but those tend to be...well, in the $200 range.

So what headset can you recommend to me?

problem not solved. thats not a ps3 compatible headset.
Just a word of advice, avoid the turtle beach px21s like the plague. They have something like a 70% fail rate. We used to see so many of them being returned at work it was shocking (then we stopped selling them because they suck)
My astro a30s are awesome, but wired and cost more than it seems you would be willing to pay.

I have the Turtle Beach PX21's...and they're okay. Mind you, they cracked a bit...hmm...
Fixed with cellotape but still.
Mind you, if you're gentle with them and take care of them, then you wont have trouble; I found them to be good.
@EMFCRACKSHOT maybe I'm one of the 30% ><.

Avoid anything by Tritton; they break like mad. Astro's are considered the best overall, but they're pricey.

The Turtle Beach PX21 is the best headset I've ever heard.
It does have one bad thing though, THE FUCKING 16 FOOT CABLE.

I'm willing to pay up to $100. I'm strapped for cash at the moment.

the A30s are now £100, but you need the £100 mixamp for them to work on ps3

I have a bluetooth headset, paid like $40 for it at RadioShack. No lie. It's a planatronics or whatever. It's really nice. I've played on Soul Calibur IV with my boyfriend and friend and my mom, grandma, and cousins couldn't hear them, so it works fine.

EDIT: Also, RadioShack had a sale while I was there, I could've got a bluetooth headset for $25 but thought that was just a little cheap, and it probably wasn't my best option. I'm not sure if they're still doing the sale, but it wouldn't hurt to look. Also, GameStop also had a few bluetooth headsets for $40, as well as WalMart. I'm not sure where you're shopping, but try looking online with WalMart, RadioShack, etc. Even Verizon wireless! In the words of the guy at GameStop when I asked if a cellphone bluetooth headset would work "Bluetooth is bluetooth. It'll work."

I've tried using a blue-tooth, but it hurts my ear after a while. I need a full headset. :(

Well, my best suggestion is, go ask GameStop then. I'm going to quote my cousin here "Those guys will know best"
