I'm desperately trying to remember the name of a game that I saw a let's play of on youtube many months ago.
It's an old game, very unusual, and not well known at all.
You play as a woman who's father has gone crazy and locked himself in some big old building, the police have surrounded it but you just walk past them and enter the house.
You're met by your fathers face in the ceiling of the entrance room who tells you to leave, NOW!!! (the house is somehow half mixed with his mind or dreams).
The game is played from the 1st person perspective, and you can choose to walk forwards, turn left, turn right, which basically just play pre-captured videos (from the first person perspective) of you moving around the room as instructed, and from this view you must solve the mystery by solving puzzles. Pretty much classic adventure puzzles: locked drawers, keys inside safes with combination locks with the combination hidden somewhere
Throughout the game you cannot save your progress: you have to beat the game in one shot and if you loose you restart. You're also on the clock and must beat the game before the pocket watch thing you carry reaches a certain time. You can also check your make-up kit thing for hints, but doing so 3 times will break it.
The bit of the game that I saw involved getting across a room with a spiked wall which would try to crush you until you found a handle which you could fit and then turn to disable it. I also recall a spiral staircase and a really creepy dressing table with mirror just next to it.
