Okay, so I'm making my own PC but, I'm new. So I don't know all the ins and outs. I have pretty much everything else covered apart from a monitor and workstation, but right now they don't matter.

What I need to know from you guys, is how good this graphics card is and how long you reckon it will last before it becomes obsolete.

It is a mid-top-of-the-line card. It competes well with anything else you can think of, but it doesn't cross the lunatic fringe.

At that price (i'm thinking equivalent to, $170?) I'd hop on it.

EDIT: oh, obsolesence. Well, it will probably phase out in a year-and-3/4's. That's the average.

It will still be more than enough for about 4 years to come, if the trend in hardware is any consideration.

I'd say you could get 3 years out of that, as long as the hardware supporting it is good.
Thanks, then that's what I'm getting. It's not too much over what I was going to get so it's all good. 3 years will do me just fine.
