So far my video game experiences lately have been really bad. "Too human" was terrible. Soul Caliber IV was waste. Braid was OK, but not really great either. I mean I'm running out of a will to continue to get games if they keep coming out with amazing amount of hype and then suck. I hoping at least Mercenaries 2, Fable 2, and maybe gears of war 2 are good. Any suggestions?

Yeah, stop chasing around after the big names. Look at the kind of stuff you actually like and remember that there are games worth playing over six months old.

Have you tried the demo for The Force Unleashed? The storyline looks to be goofy and many elements not particularly deep, but it's good for a great many belly laughs if nothing else. What other game allows you to deform girders inside a station until they look like a slinky so they get in the way of passing TIE fighters and smash them to bits? You can stick a lightsaber in someone's corpse, charge it with lightning and throw it at people(or objects, which will ludicrously explode) like a Stabby Deadguy Bomb d'Force . If you liked hurling or choking to death stormtroopers in Jedi Knight this is more of the same, only better. Lightsaber sandbox-like action? Sounds like a winner.

If you have a PC, there are tons of old games that are still worth playing. But you're not really giving us a lot to go on. I have no idea what kind of games you like or why.

Sacrifice was good, but it's not for FPS junkies (too slow).

Poleboy's right, we need more info on the kind of thing you like. RPGs? RPG elements? FPS? RTS? What didn't you like about Too Human? Too fast? Too Slow?

If you're looking forward to Fable 2, chances are you liked Fable, so I suppose that's something. Yay? Nay? Tried Morrowind? Gothic? Oblivion?

Oh! I know! Jedi Knight 2 and Jedi Academy. I don't think I know anyone who didn't enjoy tossing people around with the Force, mixed with lightsaber duels. I suppose the same goes for the new Star Wars game?
It sounds to me like you play 360, and I know you can get JA for the old Xbox. Don't know if it will run on the 360 though.

If you didn't think Braid was great, then I think it might be time to sell all your games and get a different hobby. Just kidding. However, like many other people, I thought Braid was tremendous. A little short perhaps, but still an outstanding game, and if you weren't excited by that when everything else is leaving you cold as well, then I'd be worried.

There's been a bit of a lull in the release schedule lately, but while we wait for things like Mirror's Edge, Fallout 3 and Fable 2, have a think about what you're looking for in a game. Ask some questions. What do you want to do? How do you want to feel? Why have your recent experiences been bad? Are you expecting too much?

You could try going back to older games and try some titles that you never got round to trying. Try renting some games or downloading some demos. Try beating high scores on a game you're pretty good at. Play some retro games for nostalgia. There are games I can go back to and never get bored of.

Alternatively, just do something else - read a book, ride a bike, go to the movies, play hockey, whatever you're into. You'll come back to gaming soon enough. :)

What kind of game do you like? Maybe the 360 isn't for you, maybe a Wii, PC or PS3 might be better suited. And look for games that are more than 6 months old. Hell, all my favourite games are 6 YEARS old, or sequals of games that old.
