Call of Duty: Black Ops

Worst Console port ever, I heard that many people as well as myself jsut can't play it even though they should, lag, stuttering, framerate drops, you have a 1-3 chance of getting it to work if you have the reqs, but it doesn't matter how good your PC is. Although it has nothing to do with technical capabilities, but it has to do with the fact it was made for consoles then copy-pasted onto PC.
Massive piece of shit. HOW did they make it look WORSE than MW2. I know I just have my Laptop but it's pretty epic. I've had it for about a year and a half now and it runs every game I put on it... except THAT. I have enough according to specs and it does technically run... but it takes about 5 minutes for it to load each level!

But yeah, I dunno what the min specs are for the next gen of games coming out but so far my laptop is fine for anything, only cost £550. If a console sets you back £200 that leaves you with £350 for a decent TV to play your console on (something most console gamers forget) AND a laptop because frankly everyone needs a PC at the end of the day.

Actually Crysis 2 looks pretty damn good on consoles from what I see. Apparently the CryEngine 3 works well on multi-platform.

Honestly, I hope they aren't the same because to do that they would have to actively limit the PC version's capabilities to match those of the consoles.

Show them Crysis.

Show them you get more than 30 frames per second in any game.

Also let them play a shooter at 60+ FPS, preferably triple buffered or else capped slightly below the screen's refresh rate.

Poor framerates are the biggest downsides to consoles (and slower PCs). All console shooters feel very unresponsive after playing at good rates.

It prolly still won't convince them, but there's no arguing with console fans. They'll defend anything they got suckered into like a hostage with Stockholm syndrome.

I agree PCs are better. Until, about, last year I was exclusively a console gamer. Mega Drive, PS1, PS2, PS3, but when I bought a good PC for my 21st my PS3 has been collecting dust. I love being able to upgrade it whenever I want. Christmas bonus? I bought a new GPU. Birthday money? A SSD. Loads of fun. I'm thinking of a new MoBo, but it's probably best to save up and buy a CPU and RAM as well.

While I agree that PC gaming is more customisable, easier to upgrade, and superior various other ways, I have to provide the answer to your question: Tumble.

It may only be because the Move controller doesn't have drivers for the PC (That I know of, there may be third party ones, I'm not the be all and end all on this) but it fits your criteria. Your computer can't run it because of hardware issues.

I'll be the first to admit I'm wrong, and will gladly accept any information to the contrary provided, but to the best of my knowledge, you can't run a PSMove game on your PC.

As much as I like my 360, your friends are being morons (or are at least misinformed).

There is no winning this kind of argument though, for either side. Your PC is more powerful than consoles (though whether power is everything is up for debate), but I can't think of a way to convince them of this beyond just showing them the stats. And if you do that, they will change tack, and eventually it'll move onto something too subjective to be properly resolved.

Unless this bet could win you money, I'd just drop it and not bring it up again. Chances are they'll forget about it. If they keep bringing it up and going on about it, then it's time to pull out the stats.

This argument between you and your friends is pointless.
This is the truth.

Since the OP really, really, really demands an answer: I don't know about any of you (especially who play mostly on the PC), but Super Mario Galaxy wouldn't be nearly as fun to play hunched over a keyboard going blind from sitting a foot away from a screen that's shooting bright colors right into my retinas. Same with most Nintendo games. You can scream and cry about specs and graphics all you want, but all that leads to is putting shit-games like Crysis and it's likely-to-be shit-burger sequel Crysis 2 on a pedestal that they don't deserve (P.S.: I'd say Okami for the PS2/Wii, and the 1997 PC game The Last Express look way better than anything on the Cry Engine, but that's personal taste).

I feel ashamed, I'm still running Windows 2000.

Edit: Oh! I have no idea on the specifications either. The computor refuses to tell me and I couldn't be buggered opening it up and looking at it. Still. A painter's house looks bad, a dictator can't run his family and a lawyer should never represent himself, so meh I'm just a technician.

Wow, your whole statement is about how his friends are retards and then you defend that same logic. This argument reminds me of this video. Katara (PC) Sokka (Consoles)

The only difference is Katara (PC) is right.

Your best bet is to just drop the argument and if you value these friends never bring it up again. You will never sway them from their belief that their consoles are better than your PC. I've had this argument with people before and it never ends well.

So I recently invested in a new motherboard, ram and cpu. Dropped about 400 bucks on the upgrade.
And my console gamer friends are saying I'm an idiot for "wasting my money on something that's worse than a console." And I aim to prove them wrong!

But they won't take my word for it, convinced that consoles are vastly superior in every way (including graphically, but I don't want to get into that).

So I am looking for a current, as in within the last say.... 3 years or soon to be released, that my computer could not run that a console can, or a game that performs better on a console than my PC.
To measure the capability I'll use that can you run it thing.
For the love of all that is good help me put this argument to rest.

Specs:
Windows 7 Ult
Phenom 2 x4 955 3.2ghz
8gb DDR3 1600mhz
Radeon HD 4850 x2 2gb 256bit GDDR3
Console exclusives, like Halo? The only real differences in the console wars is the games, cuz we are playing the game, not the console.

Please don't start flame-baity topics.

Part of the appeal for consoles is that you can buy one console, which comes in one prepackaged set off everything you will ever need, does not need to be built, does not need to be changed every few years with increasingly expensive parts, only once when it has become obsolete, will play any game almost immediately so has pick up and play value, has generally more intuitive controls, since developers can't even give in to the temptation of having a whole keyboard to attach controls to, graphics are generally either as good as or only slightly worse than PC, since PS3 and 360 both work in HD, and really developers aren't going to plug that much more into the graphics for a PC release, there's no difference in releases, stories within game, content, PC in fact have it worse in terms of DLC usually.

PCs, while there are arguments about being able to build budget cheap ones, are generally more expensive for a system that can run the best and latest releases (generally the best example being Crysis, which to run properly I'm fairly certain needs parts which haven't been invented yet). The controls are not necessarily quantifiably better than a controller, only more personalised and PC owners hard on constantly about the slightest of better reaction times in FPSs, but beyond that the only thing that a PC is definitely better for are RTSs, and the only exclusive releases generally fall into the realms of 'things which a console couldn't play anyway.'

If you have the money to buy such a high end PC, go for it, and I wish you well, but in terms of money consoles are better, and as far as I have ever been able to see (which I acknowledge is purely my own opinion) there is no difference in the games released, or at least not enough to justify getting them on PC instead of console.

meh, PCs have the potential to be better, but depending on your PC specs, the advantage of consoles is that they are always reliable to run the game made for them. They won't lag (at least offline, and online, if you're on a decent connection.) (e.g. fallout NV. People are constantly going on about bugs, though the majority have been PC gamers. I have it for 360, and other than a few minor things, it's fine.) in the long run, it's cheaper to download the series of free updates and then after a good number of years, buy the next generation of console than keep upgrading your PC's video cards and such.

That being said, I play both, but probably the 360 more frequently.

NOOOOOOOOOOOO! Do not fuel the argument. I personally prefer my xbox even after being a PC gamer for many years before, but that is just OPINION, and therefor 100% NON FACT BASED!
Fueling the un-win-able debate just makes it worse, man!

Run an operational benchmark on Half Life 2 Episode 2.

You will observe that the naturalized PC version of Source Engine 2009 can run as high as 400fps.

Run HL2E2 on a console. You will observe the Console engine adaptation has a hard limiter to 60fps or less in order to comply with television input refresh rates (may vary depending if you're in an NTSC or PAL country.)
Less framerate means limited tick rate which reduces the speed at which the game can be calculated.
