Recently started to consider downloading some morrowind mods, as I'm new to this I was wondering if anybody more experienced with Morrorwind mods could give me a step by step guide on how to get them working. Thanks.

Well make sure you have WinRar and WinZip, first. Download them and open them, read the Readme, and drag and drop the files to wherever it says to do so, then run the Morrowind launcher, click "Data Files", check all the Mods you want to run, then play Morrowind.
Done.
If they don't have a Readme and there's only one file in the archive, just drop that into the Data Files folder.
