In relation to my dissertation and for some general discussion:

Do you think war is marketed to children and is this such a bad thing?

As for the discussion itself, I hadn't thought about it but it seems that yes it is. Whether it's good or bad I can't say, though. It seems natural, yet undesirable (or is it?). Hmm, I really can't think of any good points on this. It's totally outside my background. Sorry about that. At least I did the survey.

sooo, part of your dissertation will be based off a quiz with one question which boils several different issues into one binary question, with no extra questions to help eliminate sampling bias. I don't do humanities, but don't you need quite a bit more than that?

On topic; Frankly I don't know. I remember playing at soldiers as a kid, but we also played at dinosaurs. It seems the sort of thing you could argue either way.

Since the people who make money off toys are not the same a people who make money off war, i can't see the motive to push something like that on kids. Therefore I would argue people sell toy guns etc. because kids like them anyway, rather than kids liking toy guns because they're marketed. After all, its not like everyone who had an action man has gone on to join the army is it.
