help me with this FF trouble

me and a friend were bitching back and forth and we lost the original subject but argument turned into discussion and we wondered when the first summoner ever existed in the final fantasy series was. and im truly ashamed not knowing. help?

For a question that seems to have a definite answer that quite easily could be found when searching around The Internet, I'd suggest you search teh Internets, as this whole thread can be /threaded by a response of a few words.

In other words:
Making a thread to find an answer to a random simple question? It's a no-no.

First appeared as a class in FF3 so technically it would be either Luneth,Arc,Refia or Ingus. Though the first cannon playable summoner though would be Rydia from FF4.
