This fucking sucks. My laptop, which I mainly use as a computer, has just broken down. At first, it wouldn't respond to the charger, so I tested the charger to find that it doesn't work. So, I got a new one.

That didn't work. The computer now will just blink over and over that its getting a charge, but, if I turn it on, it just automatically shuts down. Now, they tell me that the motherboard is completely destroyed and it'll cost upwards of $200 to fix it, plus a non refundable shipping charge of 50 dollars.

And thats where you come in Escapist! Should just get the motherboard replacment or just get a new computer?

And, if you suggest I just get a new laptop, I need something that has at least 100 GB of memory for my music and is at a decent price. I honestly don't do much else except listen to music, watch movies, and use word processor. So,any suggestions would be great.

100GB of memory? I don't think that's even possible, unless you mean Hard Drive space. After reading your post again and getting confused, thinking you'd bought a computer to replace your laptop, I suggest you scrap the laptop and buy a proper PC.

Might just be a burned out power connector. I know on my Dell Inspiron 640m they can be had for like $5 on eBay...

Just a thought. Would suck if you had to buy a whole new laptop, but if you do I love Dell. Mines like over 3 years old and still going strong.

EDIT:
$4.17CAD + $1 shipping [http://cgi.ebay.ca/DC-Power-Jack-Dell-Inspiron-600M-630M-640M-500M-510M_W0QQitemZ300268536406QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item45e9664256], haha.

I don't mean to sound stupid but I have no idea what the fuck you're talking about.

It is. The laptop I'm using right now has 103GB or space on it, and it was like that out of the box.

If you buy a full desktop, you can buy 1000 GB of memory fairly cheaply.

I think he means that he thought that he said 100GB of RAM, as people commonly call it memory.
