This is the press release for the announcement of a grant offer from the Knowledge Exploitation Fund (KEF) to Floating Point Studios Limited.
10th November 2008
Today Floating Point Studios Limited is proud to announce that we have been presented with a conditional grant offer from KEF (the Knowledge Exploitation Fund). KEF is currently undergoing several large changes and as a result of this a significant amount of recent applications for grants have been refused, making this conditional offer to Floating Point Studios even more important. However because this offer is conditional the studio has to satisfy several criteria specified by KEF within three months of the offer in order to receive the grant. We at Floating Point Studios are going to need your help, the help of the gaming community and the games industry to aid us in satisfying the specified criteria.
One of the specified criteria is to show that the games that Floating Point Studios (FPS) is developing have a market and that FPS is appealing to the correct area of the market and this is where we really need the help of the gaming community and industry. In order to gather data to present to KEF for this criteria and to help assess whether FPS is matching these conditions the studio has prepared a questionnaire. Floating Point Studios would really appreciate any help that the community and industry can give us, whether it's one person answering the questions or an entire website running the questionnaire for us, we will be hugely grateful.
If you decide to help us and we at FPS really hope you will, and you are a singular person answering the questionnaire we would greatly appreciate it if you could email your answers to us, additionally if you are website administrator, media company or are kind enough to post the questionnaire on your website we would be grateful if you could ask your users to email their answers to us. The Studio's email address is "[email protected]".
Floating Point Studios greatly respects the privacy of any person who chooses to answer the questionnaire and we do not require nor ask for a person's name, age or location. The questionnaire will run until the 17th of November and after which the results will be tallied and handed over to KEF. We here at Floating Point Studios want to thank anyone who answers the questionnaire or who helps us gather answers and further data on the market; after the questionnaire has finished a huge thank you will be placed on the company's website (www.floatingpointstudios.co.uk) and will also be placed in the credits of FPS's first game "Flight" which will be released in the coming months. Additionally any persons or companies that wish to make themselves known to us will also be thanked by name.
Floating Point Studios looks forward to working with the community and the rest of the industry in securing this grant. We look forward to hearing from you.
Many Thanks.
